- Completion of the Foundations of Social Sciences course in secondary school. Simultaneously attend all subjects focused on theory of theatre.

- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to orient students to the theatrical environment that immediately surrounds them, to introduce them both to its national and transnational context and to its historical roots.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student will become familiar with the basic principles of the Czech "theatre map", broaden his/her orientation in contemporary Czech theatre and become aware of the historical traditions of theatre production that surround him/her. At the same time, the student will be able to recognize the conceptual and ideological background of texts about theatre in the daily and professional press. He is able to apply the acquired knowledge both in reading and analysing the texts in question and in analysing specific productions from the current Brno theatre offer.

- Teaching methods
- Regular classes consisting of seminar-based discussion, interviews with theatre practitioners, assignments, lectures on defined topics.
- Assessment methods
- Obligation to attend classes, continuous monitoring of student's work in completing assigned independent tasks, continuous evaluation through feedback. Credit based on attendance (at least 80%) and completion of seminar assignments (3 reflections on performances seen + 1 analysis of a critical text).
