Course objectives
Objective: Graduated with a basic overview of the law and contractual skills, with emphasis on topics relevant to the practice of theatre production and stage technology..
Descriptors: knowledge of the law, its basic principles and structure with a focus on private law, a general overview of the various legal institutions, ability to solve common problems in the field of legal obligations and to recognize when you need to contact a lawyer.
Learning outcomes
Student will be able to: know and use basic principles of law and legal terminology, especially in the field of contract law; find and work with the relevant legislation and other legal resources for a particular situation; negotiate and conclude contracts; to address copyright and labor law issues; convene assembly; know, when to call a lawyer.
Syllabus
  • Law of Obligations - general part:
    a. explanation of basic concepts (obligation, contract, debt, receivable, creditor, debtor, joint obligations etc.);
    b. contracts and their conclusion (principles, contract in favour of a third party, on a future contract, unnamed, consumer);
    c. changes in obligations (assignment of debt, accession to debt, agreement, default etc.);
    d. securing obligations (contractual penalty, guarantee, acknowledgement of debt, collateral transfer of right etc.);
    e. termination of obligations (performance, withdrawal, notice, waiver, settlement, set-off etc,);
  • named contracts under the Civil Code (essentials, mutual differentiation):
    a. donation;
    b. contract of sale, contract for work;
    c.transfer of a thing for the use of another;
    d. contracts of command type, etc.;
  • Labor Law:
    a. concept, subjects, principles, object;
    b. sources of labor law, relationship to the civil law;
    c. employment and labor contract (establishment, duration, amendments, termination, ancillary arrangements);
    d. working hours, travel, holidays, renumeration etc.;
    e. agreements on work performed outside the employment relationship (requirements, differentiations, limitations);
  • the right of association and assembly and their exercise in culture (convening an assembly, encroachment of public space, the convener and his duties, etc.).
