Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide a comprehensive view of theatre, education, and training from the perspective of didactics. Thus, the course combines the knowledge, skills, and abilities acquired in previous studies with a comprehensive picture of theatre and education as an artistic pedagogical discipline.
Learning outcomes
Learner:
- Recognizes the value of art/theatre in the process of education and training;
- Demonstrate a broad knowledge of the  history and didactics of the field of drama/theatre and education and can apply this knowledge;
- can articulate the goals and content of the field in formal and informal education;
- can characterize the didactic methods of the field and apply this knowledge in practice;
- is oriented in the basic curriculum documents for the different levels of formal and non-formal education;
- knows the process of structuring and planning a teaching unit; knows the tools for reflection and evaluation;
- knows the process of creating a production for and with children and young people, and can use appropriate tools for production and reflection.

  • 1. The value and importance of the performing arts in the educational process
  • 2. The origins of drama education/theatre and education in the educational context, theatre and education/drama education in the international context in terms of history
  • 3. Characteristics of the field of theatre and education (aims and content of the field, supporting disciplines - pedagogy and psychology, basic areas of the field, the field and its overlaps, issues of the field definition)
  • 4. Didactic methods and forms of teaching, structuring, and planning
  • 5. Methods of evaluation in arts education, perception, reception, and reflection of the theatre experience
  • 6. Theatre and education/dramatic education in formal education, basic curricular documents
