Course objectives
The aim of the course is to examine the student's abilities and readiness to work as a producer. The examination is based on thet independently elaborated Producer's Plan that is consulted within a seminar. Produser`s Plan is a strategic plan (including the analytical part) and follow-up implementation plans ofa long-term intervention within the artistic or culture environment that is developed by student. In order to process the Producer's Plan, the seminar provides methodology, clues in the form of milestones including recommendations for consultation of sub-areas (law, marketing, financial management) in other courses of the study program. The final output from the Seminar - Producer's Plan - serves as a substance for the state final examination. This substance is subjected to the commission's evaluation and questions in terms of both concrete and theoretical nature.
Learning outcomes
Student in written Producer's Plan: - demonstrates a comprehensive knowledge of theater operation and operation of cultural institutions and management,
- is deeply orientated in basic primary and secondary literature of the field including international sources,
- can design and perform relevant research to analyze data and use the conclusions of strategic management analyzes,
- is able to analyze, process, discuss, present, and evaluate interventions that materialize in the production plan (the level of intent is equivalent to the level of a feasibility and sustainability study)
- effectively utilizes knowledge of the environment and the international vocabulary of the field,
- within the framework of a Producer's Plan is able to create a strategic plan and translate it into long-term, mid-term, short-term and operational plans, reflecting the specificities of the environment in which art is being carried out, and applying creatively the expertise and methods of management, project management, management, economics and financial management, marketing, law, social sciences and international cultural policy, - at the same time can use the tools to implement these follow-up plans.
- can creatively handle the presentation and office applications, which is reflected in the quality of the processed Producer's Plan and its prepared presentation,
- is able to identify problem strings, to choose and to defend their own creative approaches to their solutions in the utmost respect to the external and internal environment.
Syllabus
  • The student works in the following timetable in the winter semester, which is slightly modified according to the current calendar of the respective academic year:
    1st - 2nd week of instruction: specification of the emerging focus of production plan:
    3rd - 4th week of instruction: determining the structure and timetable for processing, defining problem areas and areas (questions) for analysis and consultation in the external environment of the school
    5 to 11 week curriculum: analysis processing based on consultations.
    12th week of teaching: presentation of the analytical part in the seminar.
    13th week of teaching: a modified procedure of submission of work, including schedule.
