- Course objectives
- Development of musical aptitude – orientation in polyphony with an emphasis on correct intonation, rhythm, phrasing, and overall expression when interpreting compositions of various musical styles. The ability to perceive and hear each other, to create a harmonious whole.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the first semester of ensemble singing, students will be able to: - orient themselves in musical notation; - recognize different musical styles and methods of interpretation; - recognize and maintain the intonation of their own voice among others in two- and three-part compositions accompanied by piano; - interpret all studied material from memory.
- Syllabus
- Rhythmic and intonation exercises, singing in unison with piano accompaniment – introduction to various musical styles: folk songs, classical music, pop, jazz. Gradual introduction to simple polyphony – 2-3 voice canon, basics of improvisation, creative approach. At the end of the first semester, practical application of the material studied (pre-Christmas performance, if possible, using the carols and Christmas songs studied).
