- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to offer students an overview of selected topics in social psychology, an orientation in communication concepts, and an introduction to specific communication codes used by minorities. A key objective of the course is to introduce techniques of psychohygiene.
- Learning outcomes
- Knowledge: - students are oriented in the terminology of social psychology; - students are oriented in the terminology of communication theories; - students are oriented in the terminology of psychogiene. Skills:- Students are able to reflect the characteristics of a social group when designing a programme for a diverse group of participants. - Students are able to suggest appropriate methods for leading a group and justify their chosen approach when working with a group. - Students are able to actively use effective communication when working in a team.- Students are able to apply their knowledge to recognize stressful situations in a group and find ways to effectively overcome stressful situations by applying elements of psycho-hygiene. Competencies: - Students are able to apply the principles of active listening and communication as team members. - Students are able to apply the acquired skills and abilities in the process of theater creation and pedagogical work with a group. - Students are able to analyze and reflect on communication situations in a group. - Students are able to use psycho-hygiene techniques for a group of participants and for the sustainable development of their personality.
- Syllabus
- During the second semester, students will study the following areas of social psychology: - communication and interpersonal relationships; (social group dynamics and how to deal with them) - types of communication, forms of nonverbal communication; - active listening, C. Rogers, J. Křivohlavý; - E. Berne's transactional analysis; - social cognition, causes of the social perception bias; - attitudes, norms, and moral development; - social learning under the influence of modeling, imitation, and identification; - stress management, psychosomatics, and mental hygiene; - relaxation as stress prevention, imagination, use of art therapy elements.

- The semester ends with a written exam covering specified topics. For students specializing in Theater and Education for the Deaf, the written exam is followed by an oral exam, interpreted into sign language by an interpreter.
