Course objectives
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the basics of project management in the field of artistic, artistic-managerial, and artistic-pedagogical research, to guide students through the preparation and implementation of a research project, from pre-project considerations to final evaluation. To create space for them to formulate their own research strategy, understand basic project management methods and techniques (both conventional and agile), and apply them in practice in assigned exercises based on their own research plans.
Learning outcomes
Upon successful completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- define the basic concepts of project management and the project life cycle in the context of artistic, arts management, and arts pedagogy research,
- explain the process of formulating a research problem, project objectives, key activities, outputs, timeline, required resources, budget, and risk management,
- describe and apply fundamental analytical methods and techniques for the preparation, implementation, and evaluation of a research project (e.g., logical framework, SWOT analysis, stakeholder analysis, project schedule),
- apply the principles of effective teamwork, leadership, and communication within a research project,
- navigate domestic and international grant schemes and prepare a basic draft of a grant application,
- design a communication strategy for a research project aimed at both professional and general audiences,
- independently plan and manage a research project from pre-project considerations to final evaluation,
- critically assess the process and outcomes of a research project and formulate recommendations for its further development or application.

Course content:
- Project, project management, project life cycle
- Definition of problems and needs, project objectives, key activities, outputs, time, resources, budget, risks
- Basic analyses, methods and techniques for project preparation, implementation, and evaluation
- Team and teamwork, leadership and communication
- Preparation of grant applications, domestic and foreign grant schemes
- Communication strategy for grant projects
- Practical application to individually defined assignments corresponding to doctoral students' research topics

TEACHING METHODS
Students reflect on and practically verify the knowledge gained through lectures and self-study by completing practical exercises related to their research projects. The results of these exercises are continuously presented and reflected upon by both the teacher and other students.

Assessment methods
