Course objectives: Students will become familiar with the key personalities and stylistic practices of Czech theatre directing and dramaturgy of the 1950s and 1960s, but with primary attention to the continuity of these practices in contemporary Czech theatre. The aim is therefore to name and interpret the paradigm of modernist directing and its development.
