Course objectives
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with basic terminology in the field of legislation and law through seminars. A one-semester insight into this issue is very limited in scope, so students will only gain a general idea of the individual branches of law (labor law, civil law, commercial law, criminal law, copyright law, etc.) with an emphasis on specific practical examples and the most common situations (GDPR, employment contract, DPP/DPČ, licensing, public procurement, etc.) and thus consolidate their basic legal knowledge. All topics will be discussed using practical examples (ideally involving the students' own projects).
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, students will be able to:
a) understand basic legal terminology and use it correctly;
b) have an overview of the scope of legal fields and their focus;
c) know the requirements for personal data protection and the necessary conditions for the validity of an employment contract;
d) know how to establish an association, how to write a license agreement, and how to file a tax return;
e) be aware of the types of legal forms of organizations - from non-profit organizations to joint-stock companies;
