- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to complete the practical and theoretical education in the field of theater and education and to interconnect the acquired knowledge and skills with a focus on the future artistic and pedagogical activities of students.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course students:
- demonstrate broad knowledge in the areas of theory, history, and contemporary practice of drama education, theater and education, and amateur theater;
- demonstrate broad knowledge in the field of methods, procedures, and forms of drama education, theater and education, and amateur theater (methodology, didactics of the field);
- understand the basic possibilities and conditions for the practical application of theories, methods, procedures, and forms of the field (in connection with knowledge of pedagogy and psychology) – e.g., for the creation of a teaching program, project, or production;
- are aware of basic interdisciplinary connections and their possibilities and limitations for practice;
- are familiar with basic primary and secondary professional literature;
- are familiar with the field of contemporary drama education, theater and education, and amateur theater, and are familiar with the work and creations of key figures in the field. - Syllabus

- Methods and forms of theater and education, basic principles - acting and stage performance; structured dramatic play; the principle of thematization and representation
- Creating productions for children and young people; creating productions with children and young people
- Theater in education - theory and history; forms of theater in education
- Theater lecturing - theory and history; theaters in the Czech Republic and abroad
- Theater for children and young audiences - specifics of audience groups and the current situation in the Czech Republic
- Teachers in the field of theater and education; important figures in the field of theater and education in the Czech Republic and abroad
