Course objectives
The aim of the course is to provide students with a safe and professionally guided space for the implementation of a complex authorial project in the field of theatre and education or theatre teaching. Under the guidance of a teacher, the student will go through the entire cycle from the initial artistic and pedagogical intention, through dramaturgical and production preparation, the actual implementation (at school or in the field) to the final reflection and evaluation. The course connects the theoretical background of the field with real artistic and teaching practice.


Learning outcomes
Design and plan an original theatre-educational or teaching project with regard to the chosen target group.
Implement the project individually or in a team in a real environment (school, theatre, public space, theatre festival, theatre show...).
Apply methods of drama education and theatre teaching in practice.
Critically evaluate one's own work and process through oral or written reflection.
Syllabus
1) Introduction, concept and preparation 
Introductory block, analysis of examples of good practice, consultation of initial intentions.

2) Implementation and consultation

Practical preparation (rehearsals, creation of teaching materials, production arrangements).

Actual implementation of the project (leading a theatre workshop, accompanying program, staging of the production, lecturer introduction / workshop for the performance...).

Continuous consultations with the subject leader during implementation.

3) Preparation of reflection

Processing of outputs, sorting feedback from participants/audiences.

Writing a final reflection.

Literature will be recommended based on the nature of individual projects.
Assessment methods
Active participation in the introductory block, at least 2 consultations with a teacher in the preparatory part, demonstrable implementation of the project in the range of 20 - 25 hours, written or combined reflection on the project (preparation, progress, goals, reflection on one's own role, impact on the target group, proposal for recommendations for future practice).

This academic year, the course is designed, among other things, to participate in the preparation and implementation of the National Review of Literary and Dramatic Fields of the Czech Primary School of Performing Arts, which will take place at the Faculty of Dramatic Arts of JAMU in June 2027. 
Based on past experience, you can expect to work as a lecturer during the conduct of wide-ranging workshops with children aged 8-15, the implementation of staging projects and workshops for performances, managerial involvement, technical support... as agreed with the teacher. 

However, the course can also be used for other activities and serves as a black box for a wide range of student projects. In these cases, however, early consultation of the students' vision is recommended, even before enrolling in the course.
