Padesátiletá historie Státní filharmonie Brno vykazuje prioritní zaměření na dílo L. Janáčka. Současně se soubor zaměřoval na interpretaci děl Martinů, Stravinského, Prokofjeva, Šostakoviče, Bartóka, ad. Soubor participoval na řadě projektů soudobé české hudby.

Throughout its fifty-year history, the Brno Philharmonic Orchestra has devoted itself in particular to Janáček's works. The ensemble has also focused on Martinů, Stravinsky, Prokofiev, Shostakovich, Bartók and many others. With respect to contemporary Czech composers, their work were given important exposure through the Brno Philharmonic's studio concerts.
