Publikaci Aktuálně – Průřez brněnskou Střední školou umění a designu vydal Dům umění města Brna u příležitosti stejnojmenné výstavy, která byla součástí oslav 100. výročí založení školy. Kurátorky výstavy se zaměřily na otázku, jakou roli škola sehrála – a stále sehrává – v životech svých studentek a studentů, absolventek a absolventů i pedagogů a pedagožek. Jak ovlivnila jejich profesní směřování? Co pro ně znamená být součástí této instituce? A jaké podoby může mít její budoucnost? Jedním z nástrojů hledání odpovědí byla anketa realizovaná mezi absolventstvem, studujícími a vyučujícími. Z jejích výpovědí vychází i kapitola Nebojte, umění nás zahřeje.

The publication Aktuálně – A Cross-Section of the Brno Secondary School of Art and Design was issued by the Brno House of Arts on the occasion of the exhibition of the same name. The exhibition formed part of the celebrations marking the 100th anniversary of the school’s founding. The curators set out to explore the role the school has played – and continues to play – in the lives of its students, alumni, and teaching staff. How has it shaped their professional paths? What does it mean to be part of this institution? And what might the school represent in the future? One of the tools used to gather these reflections was a survey conducted among alumni, current students, and teachers. The present text, entitled Do Not Be Afraid, Art Will Keep Us Warm, draws on the responses collected through this survey.
