Přednáška tří odborníků určená pro veřejnost realizovaná v rámci Týdne akademie věd ČR na půdě Divadelní fakulty JAMU. Idea výstavby stálé české divadelní scény v Brně sahá do 19. století. Obtíže se získáním vhodné parcely doprovázely neúspěšné soutěže na podobu nové budovy. Až konečně roku 1959 byla u parku Koliště zahájena výstavba Janáčkova divadla. Realizace se však neobešla bez problémů, soutěž na výtvarné prvky dopadla fiaskem a vyústila v žalobu oceněné autorské dvojice Evy Kmentové a Olbrama Zoubka na československý stát. Přednáška nabídne tři perspektivy nahlížení na vznik této významné brněnské stavby.

A public lecture by three experts was held as part of the Week of the Czech Academy of Sciences at the Faculty of Theatre of the JAMU. The idea of building a permanent Czech theatre in Brno dates back to the 19th century. Difficulties in obtaining a suitable plot of land were accompanied by unsuccessful competitions for the design of the new building. Finally, in 1959, the construction of the Janáček Theatre began near the Koliště park. However, the implementation was not without problems, the competition for design elements was a fiasco and resulted in a lawsuit by the award-winning author duo Eva Kmentová and Olbram Zoubek against the Czechoslovak state. The lecture will offer three perspectives on the creation of this important Brno building.
