Přednáška Historické české trikové a varietní marionety 1800-1950 proběhla jako součást výstavy Kabaret loutka v Horácké galerii v Novém Městě na Moravě. Tato výstava představila výtvarně ojedinělé loutky českých umělců, které byly určeny zejména pro varietní divadlo. Jak tradiční loutkáři devatenáctého století, tak i moderní loutkáři po roce 1900 kromě dramatického divadla provozovali totiž také varietní divadlo. Divadlo, které budilo u diváků pocity ohromení a úžasu, s výstupy trikových loutek, metamorfóz, akrobatických, mechanických či létajících automatů. Jednalo o podívanou z rodu varieté, eskamotérství a zábavné magie, která nebyla založena prvoplánově na textu divadelní hry a jeho interpretaci, nýbrž na obrazově pohybovém projevu oživené hmoty.

The lecture Historical Czech Trick and Variety Marionettes 1800-1950 took place as part of the Cabaret Puppet exhibition in the Horácká Gallery in Nové Město na Moravě. This exhibition presented artistically unique puppets by Czech artists, which were intended primarily for variety theatre. Both traditional puppeteers of the nineteenth century and modern puppeteers after 1900, in addition to dramatic theatre, also operated variety theatre. Theatre that aroused feelings of amazement and wonder in the audience, with performances of trick puppets, metamorphoses, acrobatic, mechanical or flying automatons. It was a spectacle from the genre of variety, escapism and entertaining magic, which was not based primarily on the text of a theatre play and its interpretation, but on the visual and motor expression of animated matter.
