První svazek dvoudílné monografie Problém Brecht nese podtitul U nás a zahrnuje různé pohledy na to, jak a čím Brecht provokoval české divadlo. Proti tezi, že Češi nikdy neměli Brechta rádi, stojí interpretace jeho dramaturgie jako inspirace pro řadu praktických divadelníků, ať šlo o manifestační přihlášení se k jeho odkazu programem „politického divadla“ v brněnské Mahenově činohře od přelomu 50. a 60. let, nebo o rozvíjení komediálních postupů v Brechtově díle, jak ho prezentovalo slavné Divadlo (Husa) na provázku v letech 70. a 80. či zlínský ansámbl (tehdy gottwaldovského Divadla pracujících).

The first volume of the monograph Problem Brecht is subtitled In Our Country and includes various perspectives on how Brecht provoked Czech theatre. The interpretation that Czechs never liked Brecht is opposed by the interpretation of Brecht's dramaturgy as an inspiration for a number of practical theatre makers - no matter if we speak about the programme of "political theatre" which was adopted by the Brno Mahen's Drama at the turn of 50's and 60's, development of comedy techniques in Brecht's plays which were staged by the famous Goose on the String Theatre in 70's and 80's, or Zlín Ensemble (former Gottwald Worker's Theatre).
