Publikace přibližuje osobnost a zachycuje kompletní jevištní tvorbu a podoby divadelního herectví přední české umělkyně Vlasty Fialové (1928–1998), která byla jednou z nejvýznamnějších hereckých osobností brněnského divadelního života druhé poloviny minulého století, ale taktéž špičkovou rozhlasovou a filmovou herečkou v celém českém kontextu. Publikace postihuje její celou hereckou kariéru, podobná kniha dosud neexistuje. Nejde o pouhou deskripci životní a umělecké dráhy této mimořádné divadelnice. Rozsáhlý text má ambici popsat, analyzovat a kriticky zhodnotit herectví Fialové i jeho proměny. To dokládají obšírné analýzy hereččiných nejdůležitějších výkonů v inscenacích Kavkazský křídový kruh (1961), Totální kuropění (1991), Matka Kuráž a její děti (1964), Komedie o umučení (1965), Play Strindberg (1969), Vytetovaná růže (1970) a Stromy umírají vstoje (1993). Součástí unikátní publikace je dokumentace a kompletní soupis všech herečkou zrealizovaných rolí, stejně jako souhrn všech článků, recenzí a příspěvků věnovaných jí a jejímu hereckému stylu. V rámci práce na publikaci autor zkompletoval domácí nahrávky Fialové a zařídil jejich věnování a následnou digitalizaci Národním filmovým archivem v Praze.

The publication is focused on Vlasta Fialová (1928–1998), an eminent Czech actress whose personality and works the author aimed to describe. No doubt Vlasta Fialová was one of the most significant showmanship personalities in Brno from the 1950s onwards; besides her theatrical activities, she was an important radio and film actress whose influence went much further than her local scope. There is no other consistent work dedicated to her as an actress. The author’s intention was not only to describe an outstanding actress’s career. What he tried was to depict, analyse and critically review her acting and its transformations. Final decision delivered a process of an analysing her seven most important characters in the following productions: The Caicasian Chalk Circle (1961), Total Cockcrowing (1991), Mother Courage and Her Children (1964), Comedy on Torture (1965), Play Strindberg (1969), The Rose Tattoo (1970) and Trees Die Standing (1993). The unique publication includes documentation and summary of all actress' characters as well as all existing articles, reviews, and papers devoted to Fialová and her acting style. As a part of the research, the author arranged her recordings – unique home videos to be donated, digitalized and placed in the National Film Archive in Prague.
