- Course objectives
- Objectives: • Acquaint students with the basics of the propagation of sound. • Taking the rules of sound propagation into account when interpreting music in various types of acoustic spaces. • Explain the basic principles of the creation of sound in the musical instruments. • Explain the principles of tempered and equal tuning and the relation between the creation of intervals in the musical instruments ant the tuning systems. • Explain the priciples of natural and artificial effects (vibrato, tremolo, reverb). Explain the impact of the recording and reproduction on the perception of interpretation. • Allow students to improve interpretation skills utilizing these principles.
- Learning outcomes
- After finishing the course, the student
- Will understand what the sound is and will understand its properties
- Understand how the sound is created in the musical instruments and how it propagates in concert halls and other environments
