The course is offered to students of any study field.
Course objectives
Try composing and arranging for a larger bands, vocal ensemble, instrumental septet-tentet to big band.
Syllabus
  • Continue to work from last semester. Also, focus, within the framework of a closer acquaintance with different casts, for a mere few-beat exercise in which it will work with different instrumentation. Listening and analysis of several classic big band arrangements of the authors such as Sammy Nestico, Thad Jones, Bob Brookmeyer. Familiarization with the compositional work of big band composers Maria Schneider, Vince Mendoza. Analysis big band arrangement of your choice.
