Course objectives
To adopt different techniques for reharmonizaci songs. Virtually discussed techniques used in their own project.
Syllabus
  • Study modal substitutions and their practical application. Keeping voices in jazz harmonic structures, functional harmonic progressions and their use in composing or improvising. Analysis of harmonic progressions in jazz standards. Inversion, hybrid chords, "upper structure Triads", polychords, pedal bass ostinato. Modulation - types and practical use. Reharmonization techniques.
