- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to provide students with an overview of the functioning of the national economy, its internal structure and contexts, as well as the disturbances that may occur in it and the possible types of economic policy and its objectives. The aim is also to provide a brief but reliable overview of the functioning of the financial market, its assumptions as well as its continuity. As part of economic theory, macroeconomics is one of the fundamental pillars for related subjects.
- Learning outcomes
- After completing the course, the student will understand the basic context of the functioning of the national economy and the prerequisites for its balance in both material and financial terms. The student will also have an idea of measuring the output of the economy and will be able to assess its level in specific cases and derive its own idea of the state of specific economies. The students will understand the terms that are used in the context of the evaluation of economies in the media and will be able to distinguish true messages from misleading ones. They will become familiar with common disorders in the national economy and will be familiar with the current types of economic policies of modern states. They will also gain insight into the functioning of financial markets, from which it will be able to draw practical knowledge for its further activities. Last but not least, it will gain an overview of the international context and the interconnection of national economies.

- Teaching methods
- Lectures with follow-up seminar. The lecture introduces students to the theme according to the curriculum, in the seminar its understanding is verified and at the same time it is a place for active participation of students and for questions and discussion about the subject matter.
- Assessment methods
- During the semester, continuous verification of students' knowledge level through communication with the teacher. Finally, the oral exam is based on previously published questions.
