Prerequisites
Graduation of the Theatre Production (bachelor degree study programme, formerly Theatre Management and Stage Technology) or a similiar type of study programme. Completed first year of the program and successful completion of the Law - Seminar I.

Course objectives
Student is prepared to apply legal knowledge into own managerial practice on advanced level. Student is able to solve standard legal situations of contractual relationship, corporate and copyright law.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to: apply current law to find specific solutions to standard managerial situations, including making any necessary adjustments along the way based on feedback, repeated in-depth research or amendments to legislation; independently locate the necessary legal text, break down a specific managerial situation into individual legal issues and find appropriate solutions, including alternative options with a justification for the preferred course of action; independently process and combine individual legal findings and supporting documents and draw conclusions from them.
Syllabus
A legal analysis of the managerial activities carried out by the student as part of their main-subject projects, identifying an appropriate legal solution and drafting it in the required or optimal forms. This is achieved through a process of step-by-step development and defence: 1) selection of a topic for a production proposal, taking into account its legal feasibility; 2) identification of the legal aspects of the proposal; 3) in-depth research and analysis of the legal framework relating to these aspects, 4) assessment of relevant risks and constraints and the proposal of solutions, 5) preparation of specific legal documents necessary for the implementation of the initial phase of the project (draft contracts, documents for registration, terms and conditions, etc.).

Teaching methods
Students select a specific production-related issue which they will work on throughout the semester. As part of their self-study, they first assess the suitability of their project from a legal perspective based on their own research; they then identify the possible legal aspects, the relevant legislation and any legal risks or limitations associated with their project. They then evaluate their findings and propose their own practical legal solution for their production project. They submit individual sections at specified milestones and present and defend their draft proposals during individual seminars. As part of the seminar-based teaching, students work as a specialist advisory team, with the lecturer acting as moderator (and providing feedback on the accuracy of the solutions). Each student submits their solution, which they present with proper reasoning in discussion with other students, whilst also being prepared to defend their work against criticism from others and to critique the work of others. The solutions discussed in this way are subsequently compiled comprehensively into a final written assignment.
Assessment methods
A graded credit is awarded on the basis of attendance at at least 70 per cent of the seminars and the submission of the final dissertation, including its individual sections at pre-determined milestones. Students are expected to participate actively in the seminars and to complete other tasks set during the seminars.
