Prerequisites
Completion of the course Pro-seminar of diploma thesis in the first year of a master's degree. The condition for completion of the course Pro-seminar of diploma thesis is a elaboration of the thesis research project, that is consulted and accepted by supervisor of future diploma thesis. An extract of the thesis research project is confirmed within the Informational Study system.

Course objectives
Aim of the course unit is to guide students in their independent research and application work. The outcome of the course is written master thesis with a minimum of 60 pages of pure text.
Student is supervised by the assigned teacher in following activities:
- student completes the research plan, including the operationalization of research questions based on established hypotheses,
- student implements a research plan,
- student performs an evaluation of the results,
- student transfesr the results into a research report, ie a diploma thesis.
This study course is supplemented with Seminar for the Seminar for the master's thesis and the documentation of graduate project to support the formal requirements and methodology of the research.
Learning outcomes
Student
- is able to process larger-scale research within the field of study and can process it in a research report, ie Master's degree thesis,
- can plan and prepare a consultation with the supervisor,
- can communicate with institutions or individuals in answering their questions,
- respects the relevant ISO standards when working on the thesis.
Syllabus
  • Student conducts research within the given topic in order to solve current problems of practice or theory in the field of theatre production.
  • Student solves the problem within a broader topic in the diploma thesis research through the deeper study of professional literature and the way of empirical or other research (the ability to formulate hypotheses, to discuss the specialized sources within individual chapters of a thesis, to prepare partial conclusions etc.), the results are presented in the research report - Master diploma thesis , where student also presents his/her own approaches to solutions.
  • The level of work corresponds to the profile of a graduate of a master's study programme of theatre production, which is a producer`s level focused on strategic management. The master thesis examines how the student has mastered the subjects and courses of the field of study and how is able to apply theoretical knowledge in solving the complex set of research objectives. Master thesis contains significant interventional elements or suggestions, ie. that besides a research part contains also a rich solutions part designed for the problem being handled.
  • When carry out research student co-operates with the supervisor of the thesis, approaches appointed consultants and actively and regularly seeks support from mentors. Student respects the time schedule and deadlines for submitting diploma thesis or its parts.
