Course objectives
The main objective is to learn to work with musical recordings and musical stave of small musical forms (variations of ballets, polkas, waltzes, rondas, etc.) and piano pieces, and practical use of rhythm and harmony skills, musical forms knowledge and also skills gained by playing the piano. The students will learn to work with various musical genres in terms of their application and processing for the creation of dance combinations during lessons of individual dance techniques and styles. The course will prepare the students also for the practical work in the choreography, which is an inherent part of any dance teachers work.
Syllabus
  • - The selection of musical material (genre, form) in chosen dance technique or choreography art, with respect to given objective and to character of dance combination creation
  • - Utilisation of musical forms knowledge and harmony skills
  • - Formal analysis of the original music
  • - Choreographic interpretation in accordance with the music
  • - Allusive presentation (either by the student himself or with other invited students)
