Course objectives
The aim of the course is to prepare students to work with vector and raster graphics in the environment of professional programs such as Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign. The course includes theoretical foundations, practical skills and the creation of original work. During the exercises, students will also become familiar with the procedures for pre-press preparation of documents.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
  • work independently with vector and raster graphics at an advanced level, effectively use advanced features of Adobe Suite software (Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign),
  • successfully integrate various graphic formats within both print and digital projects, design and execute visual concepts in accordance with professional standards of graphic design and DTP,
  • apply aesthetic and typographic principles in their creative work,
  • justify their creative decisions with regard to the project context and target audience, and reflect on and further develop their personal artistic style,
  • work independently as well as collaboratively on complex project-based tasks in the field of graphic design.

    The acquired knowledge is applied, developed, and demonstrated with originality, showing a clear level of artistic, professional, and personal maturity.

    Theoretical test: verifies knowledge in the fields of vector and raster graphics, DTP, and prepress.
    Practical assignment (individual project with continuous in-class consultations): the student creates an original graphic output (e.g., poster, advertising product) using both vector and raster graphics while following prepress standards.
    Practical test: evaluates the student's ability to quickly and accurately complete a graphic task using Adobe Suite tools.
