Course objectives
The aim is to present the development of fine art and clothing in the 20th century, in the broader context of sociological, historical and cultural. Students will be able to distinguish the characteristics of different types of art, clothing styles of each epoch, to understand the relation of fashion, art and other areas of life, they will understand the used materials, textile and clothing cuts ties .

  • Art and fashion at the time before the first World War.
  • Czech and European avant-garde art.
  • World Fashion of the interwar period.
  • Haute couture in the interwar Czechoslovakia.
  • Art of the second half of the 20th century in the Czechoslowakia and in the world.
  • Chinese and Japanese art and clothing - selected chapters.
  • World clothing collections and institutions.
