- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to enable the student to gradually prove and apply the theoretical knowledge and practical skills in practice, i.e. preparatory management activities, implementation and post-production activities, especially with regard to the knowledge of the artistic and organizational principles of the artistic institution. This course thus precedes another final course, which is the Graduate Project and its documentation, where a completely independent realization brought by a student is expected. Student within this course move gradually from project management logic (that is developed during previous bachelor studies) into the logic of program management of the institution (project within the program, i.e. production in the iartistic program). he aim of the subject is to provide a practical working environment for gradual prove of knowledge and skills in which the student is mentored by the relevant teacher/ teachers.
- Learning outcomes
- The student proves the knowledge of the artistic and organizational principles of the artistic institution and thus he/she learn to look at assigned project.
Student has already verified skills to choose the appropriate tools and means for planning, realization and evaluation of the practical project (ie competencies related to the practical realization of the project) when completing bachelor degree of study programme.
In the master degree, the artistic project provides added value in terms of the long-term sustainability of the artistic creation or output (eg hosting, participation in festivals, etc.), but in particular the implementation of the conclusion resulting from the process of organizing the project within the environment of an artistic institution.
Student demonstrates that is able to: - analyze the project in terms of project and process point of view, is able to , to organize a summary evaluation of stakeholders (if not organized on a regular basis),
- draw conclusions from the analysis to evaluate the project,
- to formulate recommendations for improving future projects / processes in an artistic institution or particular art sector,
-organize and reflect the project within a wider external environment including competitive one. - Syllabus
- There are more variants of the Production project that the student personally deliver within the preparation, implementation and post-production phase. Moreover student has to integrate project in to the environment of a professional institution or a wide team. Variants could be summarized into the following two models: A. Theater productions in one of the school theaters, eventually in a professional theater The student is a part of the creative team (it is not possible to fix the model structure of the team - students, educators and professionals in creative positions are involved). This team creates theatrical production in a school theater environment that simulates a professional theater institution including organizational processes. The result is: - publicly and repeatedly presented theatrical production, which is part of the public offer of the school theater in one season, - project documentation including the process of creation and its reflection. B. Artistic project of audiovisual, conference or event character The student is a part of the creative team (it is not possible to fix the model structure of the team - students, educators and professionals in creative positions are involved). This team creates a structured and complicated art project, which is based on either the needs of an audiovisual study program or the needs of JAMU or its partners. The result is: - a realized and publicly presented artistic project, such as an audiovisual work, a major international conference or an artistic event (street theater, big festivity, etc.) - project documentation including the process of creation and its reflection. Mentor/supervizor of graduate project: Variant A: In the case of school facilities the headmaste /director of the school theater and the relevant secretary of the theater become to be a supervizor of a student. Teacher of this course serves as mentor for student and communicates with supervising bodies. Teacher - mentor participates in all the milestones connected with the realization of the production and provides mentoring to the student. Option B: Complex and demnading projects are always designated by the teacher of Theatre Production department to serve in both functions - supervisional and mentoring ones.
