Spanish level A1, acquired either in course DJ005S or elsewhere. - Course Enrolment Limitations
- The course is offered to students of any study field.
- Course objectives (in Czech)
- The goal of this course is for the student to acquire the Common European Framework language level A2 in Spanish, which entails the ability to understand brief written and spoken communication by native speakers at close to normal speed in everyday situations, and the ability to speak and write about everyday events at a level where a native speaker will understand the student without undue effort. Students with a level higher than A1 upon commencement of the course will be pushed to achieve a higher level of Spanish, up to preparation for the DELE Superior exam.
- Syllabus (in Czech)
- This course is a continuation of DJ005S and will develop the student's mastery of Spanish to Common European Framework level A2. The student will greatly expand his or her range of vocabulary, including vocabulary specific to the theatre, film, radio, and television. The student will also greatly improve his or her range of tenses, meaning that by the end of the course, the student will be able to communicate in a nuanced and precise way about the past, present, and future, and will also be able to use the Spanish present subjunctive in basic situations where it is required. Vocabulary covered will include, but will not necessarily be limited to : lodging, commerce, online transactions, the natural environment, childhood, public life and ceremonies, interpersonal relations, anatomy, professional abilities. Students beginning the course with a higher level than A1 will proceed along a more advanced course of study, including full mastery of Spanish tenses and the subjunctive, with reading materials assigned from unmodified Spanish sources. Preparation for the DELE Superior exam will form a part of this course for those students above level B2.
The course will be 1x90 minutes weekly, with the first semester having 11 weeks of instruction and the second semester having 14 weeks of instruction, minus state holidays. The course will essentially follow the scheme set out in Aventura 2, which contains 10 units of instruction plus two revision units. 5 units will be covered each semester, meaning a pace of approximately one unit every two weeks. More advanced students will organise preparation for the DELE superior with the instructor, and will have reading and advanced grammar work each week.
