- Course objectives
- At the end of the course students should be able to practically handle the technique of Classical Dance. Elaborate correct stance and position of lower limbs, movements of arms, positions of head, aplomb and jumps, accurate coordination of movement. Develop elevation of high jumps, plasticity of arms and body. Elaborate technique of turns and battus. To master a realisation of movements into their final scenic form.
Descriptors: students should understand the basics of Classical Dance and practically apply them according to their own physical possibilities. During the course students are focused on creating the unity of form and content, anatomical aspects of individual dancers, principals of directing movements and general aesthetical standards of Classical Dance. - Syllabus
- - The first free semesters are devoted to methodical and practical elaboration of basic forms of Classical Dance. Students will adopt principals of this technique thanks to constant practice. Students should pay attention to organisation, proportion, length, pace, difficulty of a lesson
- - The next three semesters students are practically mastering more demanding movements. Based on their study experience students should take in consideration advancing logic of exercises, adequate length of combinations, tempo and proportion.
- - The following semesters students work with the most complicated part of the subject matter, especially high jumps, turns and various linking steps. All combinations have to be organised systematically and according to logical advancement order
