Course objectives
The aim of the course is to familiarize students with the basic terminology of the field of theater and education, both from a theoretical and practical perspective. In connection with the field of study, attention is also given to the creation of theatrical productions with children and youth.
Learning outcomes

Upon completion of the course, students will:
- be familiar with the basic terminology of the field and be able to apply it in practice;
- can distinguish between various methods and forms of drama education;
- can analyze and reflect on selected literary works for children and young adults with regard to their use in educational and theatrical practice;
- are able to identify the opportunities and risks associated with literary source material for educational and theatrical work.

Winter Semester: Credit will be awarded upon submission of a written assignment. The written assignment will consist of a proposal for a dramaturgical and directorial concept based on literature for children and young adults


(Summer semester: As part of the course “Theater and Education—History,” the requirement for credit is the submission of a written assignment—an annotated list of 15 books from children’s and young adult literature)
