Course objectives
The aim is to acquaint students with the basic principles of the economy, with the idea of economic subjects and their involvement in the economic system. The basic objective is also to understand the market as one of the basic management mechanisms, to understand its basic elements, ie supply, demand and price, and the principles of economic operators' behavior in the markets. This is followed by an introduction to the issues of balance of consumer and company.
Learning outcomes
Students will be able to reliably understand the basic principles of functioning of the economy at the microeconomic level. They will understand the functioning of the market and the place and function of individual economic entities on it. They will be able to correctly interpret the terms supply, demand and price and their broader context. They will understand the fundamentals of individual economic subjects in the markets

  • 6 Company Production and Revenue by Market Environment;
  • 7 Effectiveness of perfectly competitive markets;
  • 8 Monopoly Manufacturer's Equilibrium and Antitrust Regulation;
  • 9 Equilibrium in oligopolistic markets;
  • 10 Company Behavior and Balance in Monopolistic Competition Markets;

Teaching methods
Lectures with follow-up seminar. The lecture introduces students to the theme according to the curriculum, in the seminar its understanding is verified and at the same time it is a place for active participation of students and for questions and discussion about the subject matter.
Assessment methods
During the semester, continuous verification of students' knowledge level through communication with the teacher. Finally, the oral exam is based on previously published questions.
