- Course objectives
- Learn how artists communicate in a team game. Develop the ability to listen to teammates and contributing to the overall sound file. Connect theoretical knowledge with practical expression of the game
- Syllabus
- Working with a group of students in a small jazz group with a rhythm section. Perception of their own instruments in the context of the overall expression file. The ability to handle a harmonious interpretation less complicated jazz standards. Creating arranges for jazz combo with a rhythm section and two brass instruments. Developing the ability of interaction between the solo and accompanying instrument. The emphasis on rhythm and confidence interplay with bass drum set. Playing blues forms in different variants. Basic introduction to Brazilian bossa nova. When teaching the use of compositions such as: Billie's Bounce, Footprints, Impressions, All Blues, Just Friends, Autumn Leaves, Black Orpheus, How Insensitive. Space for student playing songs. Each student is required for ensemble arrange at least one song of their choice.
