Course objectives
The aim of the course Liturgy I in the summer semester is to acquaint students with the subject and object of liturgical celebration, the importance of the celebrating community in liturgy and liturgical singing, the liturgical year and the change of musical repertoire in the liturgy during the church year.
Learning outcomes
After completing the course, the student will be familiar with the Christian liturgy, know the importance of communion in the liturgy. Through the individual liturgical forms during the liturgical year he will be able to determine and select a suitable musical accompaniment and folk spiritual song. He will know how musical forms characterize individual liturgical periods, holidays and literatures.

  • Liturgical assembly; the dialogical character of the liturgy; liturgical year; liturgical places; spiritual folk song and liturgical times; cancional - unified songbook, mass song, ordinarium and mass proprium.
