Course objectives
Within individual instruction to develop practical skills composing and arranging for chamber ensembles to higher occupancy based on acquired knowledge of previous semesters.
Syllabus
  • Be able to work with a rhythmic motif and its possible use as a base for one of the compositions. Analysis of the less common forms of working eg with an odd number of cycles. Working with irregular tact, changes in the timing designation. Arrange jazz song for standard cast-piano trio, quintet-trumpet, tenor saxophone and rhythm. Furthermore reharmonizovat and arrange jazz "standard" for singing and rhythmic or ensemble vocals. Develop its own track for both standard occupancy and for unusual groupings. Analysis songs W.Shortera, H.Hancocka, K.Rosenwinkela etc. and their choice of the student's favorite musicians.
