- Course objectives
- Objective: Graduated with a basic overview of the law, general principles, terminilogy and the functioning of law, with emphasis on topics relevant to the practice of theatre production and stage technology.
Descriptors: knowledge of the law, its basic principles and structure with a focus on private law, a general overview of the various legal institutes, ability to solve common problems in the field of private law and to recognize when you need to contact a lawyer. - Learning outcomes
- Student will be able to: know and use basic principles of law; use legal terminology; have an overview of the branches of law and distinguish their relevance to theatre practice; find relevant legislation; trace other legal sources and distinguish their relevance; prepare common legal documents; know, when to call a lawyer.
- Syllabus
- Introduction to law, justification of legal regulation and importance for theatre practice, legal principles;
- system of law, a general overview of the branches of law;
- sources of law;
- legislation and legal norms, main types of norms;
- basic principles of creation, interpretation and application of law;
- basics of civil law - the general part:
a. main sources and principles;
b. natural persons;
c. legal persons (with a focus on the usual legal forms of theatres), the position of the state in legal relations;
d. representation, power of attorney;
e. objects (categorization, definition of component and accessory things);
f. legal facts, legal actions; time (counting time, the effects of the passage of time) - the basics of property rights:
a. property right (concept, limitation, protection, co-ownership, acquisition, cadastre);
b. possession (concept, authorized and unauthorized holder);
c. rights in rem to property (in particular easements, liens).
