Course objectives
At first we will learn to become "impersonal and insistent". Impersonal: the physical acting does not require particularities or psychological qualities, but forces and memories that either exceed or remain below our personalities. Insistent: performer-actor’s play on stage is invasive, disturbing and obsessive. Dramaturgy is first and foremost the adventure of meeting the spectator. In the second time we will approach the clown’s acting as a training to welcome our fragility and our strangeness: we are a very small part that is taken for the whole, nothing at all, we are and the nothing and the everything. Our fragility is evident in many dramatic and ridiculous situations of existence. It makes us free and worthy: the fight is lost in advance so victory is at hand! Our strangeness in the world leads us to do incredible and absurd things. We are forced to the impossible. Strange and fragile, the clown comes from the backstage, from the back of the cavern, sharing with us the most limpid ideals.
