- This is the first meeting with the technologies of theater, taught in the first year and starts with a tutorial on theater issues.

- Course objectives
- Objective: Introduce students to the history and development of early stage technology from the theater to the present Descriptors: Student is able to reflect the acquired properties in his artistic work, he knows the historical practices that can be applied to his current artistic production in theater. The acquired knowledge will enable inventing the wheel has been invented, but the focus is not the latest technological applications of modern facilities for theatrical productions.

- an overview of scenic technologies from Greek theaters today - Greek and Roman Theater
- medieval theater, humanist and Renaissance theater
- The Illusionary Theater of the High Renaissance
- commedia dell'arte and the Elizabethan theater
- Baroque theater
- great theater reform, romanticism and historicism
- an overview of inventions and discoveries that have influenced the development of scenic technologies. The emergence and development of light scenic technology (Furtenbach's lighting system, gas, electricity)
- the emergence and development of sound scenic technology
- the emergence and development of building scenic technologies
- mechanical scenic technology - modernization of historical theater houses
