Course objectives
Objectives: To acquaint the student with all the ways of working with sound, sound reinforcement and recording all technologies related to them.
Descriptors: Student theoretically sound engineer knows all the ways of activities used in the course Fundamentals of stage sound and stage practice sound.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:
- use the acquired knowledge and insights in practice,
- identify and apply appropriate sound capture systems and methods for individual occasions,
- design a system of acoustic measures for sound attenuation or refraction in a room.
Syllabus
  • Sound as a physical phenomenon (sound origin, characteristics and distribution, volume levels)
    - The conversion of acoustic energy into electricity (electroacoustic transducers, principles of transformation)
    - Microphones (frequency and spatial characteristics, properties and their use)
    - Fundamentals of acoustics (building and room acoustics, shock absorbing materials, resonators)
    - Sounding (string sound, input, types of wiring, connectors, cabling)
    - Types of Equipment (method, uses)
    - Schemes acoustic strings and the possibility of modulating (standard level)
    - Principles of sound recording (voice, musical instruments, sound effects and ambience)
    - Systems and methods for recording and sound reinforcement environments (theater, film, live concert, studio)
    - Sound engineer terminology
