Course objectives
The aim of the course is to acquaint the students with the problems and characteristics of public contracts and to teach students how to use them economically and effectively because the public resources are a significant source of funding for theater and culture in general. The subject extends the knowledge of the students obtained in the Bachelor's degree in Microeconomics, Macroeconomics, Budgeting, Accounting, Practical Production and Graduate Project, and in the 1st Year of Master's Degree in Financial Management in Accounting. Subject Public Procurement and Selection Procedures will deepen the knowledge and skills of students in the financial management of cultural institutions or non-profit organizations that use public resources to finance their activities.
Learning outcomes
Knowledge:
Student:
- Acquires knowledge from the field of public procurement theory,
- Can explain the term procurement,
- Can describe and list the types of procurement procedures,
- Can describe the principles of the contracting authority's procedure,
- Can describe the phases of the procurement procedure,
- Understands and is able to describe the evaluation criteria for public contracts and the qualifications of candidates.

Skills:
Student:
- Is able to distinguish the contract according to the presumed value in a public contract of small scale, under-threshold and above-limit order and by subject of public supply, service and works,
- Can work with the rules for small-scale public procurement, according to the internal directive or rules for grant recipients.

Eligibility:
Student is able to:
- Critically and independently study key and complementary materials and sources on public procurement and procurement,
- Search for other relevant materials and sources related to the topics discussed,
- Take care of the economic aspect of the implementation of procurement procedures and public procurement.

Teaching methods
Form of teaching: cycle of lectures and exercises in a continuous course.
Teaching methods: lecture, text work, practical exercises on assigned topic, individual work of students, discussion methods.
Assessment methods
The credit is awarded for the obligatory attendance in the course (both 2 days) and for the fulfillment of partial assignments and assignments within the seminar part of the course.
