Course objectives
The course will focus on the freelancing artists, which is a common way of working of graduates of the ATD in practice. The aim of the course is to acquaint students with basic issues of production and cultural management, so they can be used in practice and in cooperation with the manager or producer.

Knowledge:
Students have knowledge in taxation, basics of business, contractual relations.
Students have knowledge of the basics of copyright and civil law.
Students have a basic knowledge of tax records and accounting.
Students have knowledge of public funding.
Students have knowledge of promotion.
Students have a basic knowledge of work safety.

Students can establish a business.
Students can work with tax documents.
Students are able to process tax records.
Students are able to create their portfolio.
Students can process a grant application.
Syllabus
  • 1. How to work as a freelancer (trade, profession occupation)
  • 2. How to establish a business, how to start a business.
  • 3. Tax issues, social security and health insurance depreciation
  • 4. Agreements on work performed outside employment, licensing, contract for work
  • 5th Copyright Act
  • 6. Civil Code
  • 7th Tax value added taxpayer and non-payer of taxes
  • 8. Fundamentals of Accounting (tax records)
  • 9. The documents - invoices, orders
  • 10. Financial Literacy
  • 11. Entrepreneurial mindsets in artistic practice, home economics (cost per job normal market prices, their own cost of living)
  • 12. Public funding, grants
  • 13. Promoting, networking
  • 14. Work safety and health, specific risks at work, occupation of public spaces, the specifics of artistic work, work with children.
