- Course objectives
- The aim of the course is to provide students with an insight into the psychology of development for the purposes of their own practice. The course in developmental psychology offers an overview of the specific characteristics of psychological development in all periods (child psychology, adult psychology, gerontopsychology).
- Learning outcomes
- Knowledge: - students are oriented in various perspectives and approaches to the periodization of psychological development; - students are oriented in the professional terminology of developmental psychology;- Students are familiar with theories of significant figures in ontogenetic psychology (Jean Piaget, Sigmund Freud, Erik Erikson). - Students are familiar with theories of Czech representatives of biodromal psychology (Zdeněk Matějček, Pavel Říčan, Josef Langmeier, Dana Krejčířová, Marie Vágnerová, etc.).- Students are familiar with the theories of Czech representatives of biodromal psychology (Zdeněk Matějček, Pavel Říčan, Josef Langmeier, Dana Krejčířová, Marie Vágnerová, etc.). Skills:- Students are able to use terminology from developmental psychology. - Students are familiar with literature in the field of developmental psychology and are able to write an independent academic text characterizing the psyche at individual stages of development. - Students are able to create a program for children that takes into account the specifics of psychological development. Competencies:- Students are able to use their knowledge of developmental psychology in pedagogical practice. - Students are able to apply knowledge from the field of developmental psychology in theater production for children.
- Syllabus
- During the second semester, students will study the following areas of developmental psychology: - pubescence; - adolescence; - adulthood; - old age; - the terminal stage of life, E.K. Ross; - specific developmental problems; - dyslexia and specific learning disorders; - ADHD; - psychological deprivation; - children with illnesses or disabilities; - the family as a system.

- Assessment methods
- The semester ends with a written exam covering specified topics. For students specializing in Theater and Education for the Deaf, the written exam is followed by an oral exam, interpreted into sign language by an interpreter.
