Teaching methods
In speaking lessons, students work in groups and individually during individual consultations. During group lessons, we work on breathing exercises, working with the diaphragm. We use movement to deploy the carrier voice. When interpreting the text, students analyze each other's performances, as the form of listening and analyzing shortcomings is also important. As texts, we first use various tongue twisters, articulatory sentences containing clusters of consonants, up to short structures such as logopedic multi-sentence exercises. Later, we move on to more comprehensive texts such as short messages for the radio or radio advertisements. In the final stages of the work, it is necessary to fully incorporate the speaking technique into acting. When working on the text, we focus on meaning analysis, the rhythmic breakdown of speech is also important. We work on improving the pronunciation of sibilants, we eliminate bad habits and other shortcomings in speech.
Assessment methods
The student is evaluated not only for his whole semester's work in class, but also for the results of his efforts in homework, which should be reflected in the overall progress of his speech. At the end of the semester, the results of the teaching will be presented in the form of an open evaluation class in the presence of the head of the studio or during the cloister work. Regular attendance at stage speaking classes is required.
