Course objectives
The aim of the project, the workshop is to introduce the audience to the basics of stage and television lighting, both in the professional, theoretical and practical level. In the course of the workshop, the listeners are also introduced to the problems of the tectonics of scenic space, the role of light in theatrical and television productions as a supporting element of the composition.
Learning outcomes
Upon completion of the course, the student will be able to:

- distinguish and describe individual light sources and luminaires;
- to light a variety of spaces for theatre and television productions;
- create a lighting script for a production;
- understand the terminology of television, photo and theatrical lighting;
Syllabus
  • Light sources, atmospheres and stories of theatrical and television lighting.

    - Basic technical concepts and theories,
    - light sources,
    - types of artificial light sources,
    - possibilities of controlling light chains,
    - types of luminaires, their use in television, theatre and photographic practice,
    - possibilities of using atypical light sources
    - lighting of objects, lighting atmosphere, light story,
    - lighting a certain space, situation,
    - creation of lighting script.

Teaching methods
Teaching in the form of a multi-day workshop, where students verify the acquired knowledge in practice.
Assessment methods
Credit is awarded on the basis of participation in the workshop, completion of partial tasks during the workshop and submission and presentation of a seminar work on the assigned topic.
