Abstract

ORIG EN

In the original language

In English

The study examines performative and narrative approaches to teaching theatre history in higher education. It argues that theatre history should not be reduced to a body of factual knowledge but understood as a dynamic system of cultural memory, activated within pedagogical situations. Teaching is thus conceived as a performative and relational act in which historical knowledge is reconstituted. Methodologically, the study draws on reflective practice and engages with concepts of performativity, embodied learning, and the archive–repertoire relationship. It analyses staging experiments, narrative strategies, and dramatisation techniques as epistemologically relevant modes of engaging with historical material.
