Abstract
In the original language
Confession was created as a practical outcome of specific research that dealt with the sensory and invisible specific needs of professional actors. In the production, actors with inborn and acquired specific needs tell their stories about their journey to theatre, the obstacles and struggles they had to and wanted to face in order to succeed. The aim was not only to bring the individual experiences of each actor into focus, but also to create a theatrical format that combines documentary accounts, original acting and performative elements. The conference paper is a reflection on production-making and the possibilities and limits of self-reflection on one’s own story in an aesthetic form. How are personal accounts transformed when they become a theatrical work? And can theatre contribute to change in more than just aesthetic terms?
