This paper will focus on the presentation of Czechoslovak action scenography at the Prague Quadrennial in the 1970s and early 1980s. The aim is to document the selection process and the presentation of action scenography, which was in Czechoslovakia predominantly linked to alternative theatre. This will be achieved through the memories of Josef Ciller, a Slovak scenographer who won gold medals for scenography at PQ 75 and PQ 83, contemporary materials and reflections in the press.
