V originále

Výstava přiblížila proměny odívání v průběhu života skladatele Bohuslava Martinů (1890-1959). Byla rozdělena do tří celků, korespondujících se zásadními změnami v životě skladatele (éra secese, končící první světovou válkou, dále období „první republiky“ s poukazem na razantní změnu v oblékání a nakonec vývoj odívání v době druhé světové války a desetiletí po ní). Odívání - jeho výroba i údržba - patřily ke každodenním důležitým momentům života rodiny Martinů, neboť jak sestra skladatele, tak jeho manželka byly švadleny a šitím si vydělávaly na živobytí. A navíc maminka skladatele byla pradlena, živila se údržbou šatů, a tatínek šil a opravoval na zakázku boty.

The exhibition showed the changes in clothing during the life of the composer Bohuslav Martinů (1890-1959). It was divided into three parts, corresponding to fundamental changes in the life of the composer (the Art Nouveau era, ending with the First World War, then the period of the "First Republic" with reference to a drastic change in clothing, and finally the development of clothing during the Second World War and the decades after it). Clothing - its production and maintenance - was one of the daily important moments of the Martin family's life, as both the composer's sister and his wife were seamstresses and earned a living by sewing. In addition, the composer's mother was a laundress, making a living by maintaining clothes, and his father sewed and repaired custom-made shoes.
