The field of classical music is changing radically – music is disseminated differently, consumed and performed differently compared to the past. The career of a musician is also changing, usually combining several types of jobs and professions. Most higher education music institutions are responding to these changes, although curriculum transformation cannot replicate the speed of change in the art music environment. The presentation focuses on the characteristics of the situation in the Czech Republic, specifically on the employment of music university graduates.

Oblast klasické hudby se radikálně mění – hudba se jinak šíří, ve srovnání s minulostí se je jinak konzumována a prezentována. Mění se i kariéra hudebníka, která obvykle kombinuje několik typů zaměstnání a profesí. Většina vysokoškolských hudebních institucí na tyto změny reaguje, i když transformace kurikula nemůže kopírovat rychlost změn v prostředí umělecké hudby. Prezentace se zaměřuje na charakteristiku situace v České republice, konkrétně pak na uplatnění absolventů hudebních vysokých škol.
