Publikace se zabývá dostupnými informačními zdroji, jejich charakterem a kvalitou, výstupy existujících domácích i zahraničních dotazníkových šetření, vlastním šetřením o souladu nabídky a poptávky v segmentu klasické hudby v ČR a vývojovými trendy v kontextu EU. Přínosem studie je nejprve shrnutí zdrojů různorodých informací a jejich vysvětlení, poté vlastní průzkum, který dokumentuje kapacitu pracovních míst, soulad nabídky a poptávky, jak kvantitativní, tak kvalitativní (v části evaluační) v ČR a doplnění výzkumu o část strukturovaných pramenných rozhovorů, které dokreslují komplexní obraz situace dnešního hudebního umělce v oboru klasické hudby, který nejčastěji pracuje v portfoliové kariéře nejméně dvou činností – obvykle umělecké a pedagogické. Výzkum doložil i důležitost husté sítě Základních uměleckých škol, která je z hlediska sociálního reálnou záchytnou sítí pracovní příležitosti zejména absolventů hudby uměleckých škol.

The study deals with the topic of employability of artists in the labor market in the field of classical music in the Czech Republic in the context of the EU. It analyzes available statistical data and sample questionnaire surveys, which it supplements with its own questionnaire survey of students in the last years of conservatories and art academies in the Czech Republic. These outputs are mirrored in comparison with the demand of the largest employers of artists – the network of elementary art schools and professional symphony orchestras and theaters. The questionnaires contain both factual and evaluative questions. The situation of artists in the labor market is so specifiC that it cannot be captured only by brief questionnaire surveys. It was desirable to supplement them with structured interviews with artists of all generations. The study also includes a chapter devoted to the situation of freelancers and proposals for a legal solution to the so-called “status of artist.” At the end of the text, the user will find a SWOT analysis and recommendations.
