Why are we so interested in the theatre work of actors with intellectual disabilities? In my paper I will talk about two conversations I recently had with artists who work with a companies of actors with intelectual disabilities. The first one I conducted with the artistic director of the German Theater THIKWA, the second one with the external director of the French Théâtre de l'Oiseau-Mouche. I will focus on two key questions: How do these people think about their actors? What do they expect from working with them?
